Lentil soup fail: Oversalted and now I'm stuck with a pot of regret

I was trying to make a cheap batch of lentil soup with dried lentils and veggie scraps. Accidentally poured in like three tablespoons of salt instead of three teaspoons, rookie mistake. Now it tastes like the ocean and I don't wanna waste the food. Any hacks to fix this or should I just chuck it and learn my lesson?

Made a big pot of bean soup last winter and accidentally used salted butter when the recipe called for unsalted. Ended up so salty we could barely eat it. Tried adding lemon juice and sugar, but it just tasted weird. Had to toss it and order pizza instead.

Reminds me of the time I salted my coffee...

Why do kitchen mistakes always feel like they ruin everything? I keep seeing how one wrong move makes us ready to toss the whole project, not just in cooking but with other daily stuff too. Adding plain boiled potatoes or more lentils could maybe help, but sometimes the fix just makes a bigger mess. It's like we get so stuck on the error that we forget it's okay to let things go. Save yourself the stress and start over another day.
