My $3 frozen veggie stir fry turned into soup, still a win
Last Tuesday I was rushing dinner and grabbed a bag of frozen mixed veggies, soy sauce, and some old rice. I dumped everything in the pan on high heat, then my youngest started crying and I got distracted for like 15 minutes. Came back to a watery mess cause the frozen broccoli thawed and dumped liquid everywhere, and the rice soaked it all up. I threw in a beaten egg and some chili flakes, and honestly it tasted like a weird porridge but my kids ate it all and we spent about $3 for four servings. Anyone else had a failed stir fry turn into something edible by accident?

Did you ever notice that cooking while chasing a toddler is basically just playing a weird game of kitchen roulette? Mine was a bag of “stir fry” that turned into a mushy soup because I forgot the pan was on while I searched for a lost shoe. The secret move is adding peanut butter and pretending you meant to make a sauce. We ate it over crumbled crackers like weirdos and called it dinner. My kids still ask for “soup rice” sometimes, so I guess I won the lottery by accident.
