My sister called me out on my "budget" meal prep last week and I haven't stopped thinking about it

She came over while I was portioning out chicken thighs and rice for the week. Said I spend more on hot sauce, seasonings, and fancy salt than she does on her whole grocery trip. I added it up and she's right. $12 on three different bottles of hot sauce last month alone. Has anyone else realized their "cheap" meals secretly cost a lot because of all the extras?

And @val_williams, that deep smoky flavor is so much better than fresh chiles for hot sauce, you can't beat it.
