Overheard a woman at Aldi say she was feeding her family of 4 on $50 a week

She mentioned buying bulk oats and dry beans from the bulk bins, plus planning around the yellow sticker meat markdowns that happen every Tuesday at 9am. Has anyone else tried timing their shopping for those markdowns?

Funny you mention that, my neighbor swears by the discount produce aisle, she's made some questionable casseroles from it.

Is a questionable casserole really that big of a deal though? I mean, you're still getting food on the table, right? Maybe it's just me, but I've eaten some pretty sketchy combos out of the discount bin before and I'm still standing. Honestly, half the time those "questionable" meals end up being the most interesting things you make all week. idk, I think we overhype how bad a slightly weird vegetable stew can be.
