Question about using frozen veggies instead of fresh for stir fry
I tried swapping fresh bell peppers for a $1.49 bag of frozen mixed veggies in my stir fry last night and honestly could not tell the difference after it hit the wok, has anyone else made that switch and noticed if certain frozen veggies hold up better than others?

The broccoli and the green beans in frozen mixes definitely hold up better than the carrot cubes or the little bits of zucchini I've found. I've been using the Aldi brand of frozen stir fry mix for about a year now, and it saves me probably 15 bucks a week compared to fresh. The bell peppers get a little softer than fresh ones, but I honestly prefer them that way when they're cooked on high heat. The key is to not thaw them first, just toss them in the wok frozen and let the water cook off quickly. I'd say the only frozen veggie I avoid is frozen mushrooms, they turn into rubbery little sponges every time.

Yeah toss em straight in frozen is the move. Feel your pain on the mushrooms though.
