Stop buying those pre-cut veggie trays, seriously

I spent $9 on a party tray last week and the carrots were already slimy by the next day. Chopping my own broccoli and peppers takes 15 minutes and costs about $4. Anyone else pay the laziness tax and regret it?

And honestly the real issue nobody talks about is the plastic waste. Those trays come wrapped in like three layers of cling film and a hard plastic shell that you cant recycle in most places. Meanwhile I just toss my veggie scraps in a compost bag and call it a day. Plus when you buy the pre-cut stuff you're paying for the water they spray on it to keep it looking fresh, so you're literally buying wet vegetables. I timed myself last week and it took me 11 minutes to chop a whole tray's worth, and that included washing the cutting board after. The convenience factor is a total scam once you realize you're also paying for the guilt of throwing away a mountain of plastic every single time.
