Swore by cheap white bread until my neighbor showed me a 59 cent trick
I used to think store brand white bread was fine for everything. Then my neighbor Linda gave me a slice of her homemade sandwich loaf and I could not believe the difference. She showed me how she makes a whole loaf for about 59 cents using just flour, yeast, water, and salt. Now I spend 10 minutes mixing dough on Sunday and have fresh bread all week for less than a dollar. Anyone else find a simple swap that saved money and tasted way better?

Oh man, the "59 cent trick" totally got me too. I was the same way, just buying whatever bread was on sale, usually the really soft squishy kind. Then my buddy Matt brought over a loaf he made and it was seriously life changing. I started making my own sandwich bread a few months ago and now I can't go back. It's funny how just flour, water, yeast and salt can turn into something so much better than the bagged stuff. My kids even ask for toast now instead of cereal in the mornings, which is wild for us.

Add a little honey next time, really brings out the flavor.

Get where you're coming from but I gotta say the squishy stuff still has its place for me. I tried making my own bread for a few weeks and yeah it tasted amazing but I just don't have the time or patience to keep up with it every week. Homemade is great until you forget to start the dough and you're scrambling for lunch the next morning.
