Thought bulk lentils were a scam now I'm a believer

I was skeptical about buying a 10 pound bag of lentils for $8 at Smart Foodservice. Seemed like I'd never use them all. Three months later I've made 14 meals from that one bag. Things like lentil soup, taco filling, and curry. Even froze some portions for busy nights. Total cost per meal came out to like 57 cents. Anybody else have a bulk buy that actually paid off?

Those 14 meals from one bag sounds interesting how many servings per meal you getting out of it?

Yeah you gotta play around with the portion sizes a bit, it's like how a jar of pasta sauce says four servings but someone like me stretches it to six or seven depending on what I add in.

You ever buy those bags of frozen chicken breasts and the serving size is like half a breast, but who's actually eating half a breast? I just cook two and call it a meal.
