TIL frozen spinach is way better than fresh for my cheap pasta sauce

I always bought fresh because it felt fancier, but a friend in Chicago showed me her trick. She uses a whole 10 oz block of frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed, in her tomato sauce. It costs about a dollar, adds bulk and nutrients, and you can't even taste it. Anyone have other cheap veggie hacks that disappear into meals?

You can't taste it? I can always taste frozen spinach, it has a distinct flavor. Still a good cheap trick though.

Maybe my taste buds are broken, @jordanblack, because my smoothies just taste like banana and regret.

My blender from 2018 has never fully hidden the taste of frozen spinach. It always comes through, like a faint grassy note under the fruit. I tried pineapple and mango to cover it, but nope. That weird, cold plant taste is always there in the background.
