Why does nobody talk about how fast a $1 pack of chicken thighs goes bad
Honestly I'm still mad about this. Last Tuesday I grabbed a 4 pack of chicken thighs at the Kroger over on Vine for like $4.89 because it was the cheapest protein in the store and I was trying to stretch my grocery money to Friday. Got it home, tossed it in the fridge, and by Thursday morning it smelled like a swamp and there was this gray film on it. I checked the date and it said it was good until Saturday, so what gives? I ended up pitching the whole thing in the trash and eating rice and frozen peas for dinner, which was just sad. I even tried trimming the outside pieces to see if the rest was fine and nope, the smell was everywhere. So now I'm out five bucks and still hungry. Does anyone actually freeze these the second they get home, or is there some trick with the fridge temp I'm missing?
