Why does nobody talk about how much cheaper dry beans are than canned

I finally switched to dry beans after 3 years of buying canned and my grocery bill dropped by $8 a week just on that one swap, has anyone else done the math on their savings?

Read somewhere that dry beans have something like 60% less sodium than canned. Makes the savings even better.

Yeah but who actually has time to soak beans overnight and then boil them for an hour? I get that sodium is lower but canned beans are already cooked and ready to go in like 2 minutes. Plus you can just rinse canned beans under cold water for 30 seconds and you knock off a ton of that sodium anyway. I've done both and honestly the texture difference is barely noticeable once you throw them in a soup or chili. Dry beans are cheaper per pound sure but you're paying for convenience with canned and that's worth something.

I used to think canned was the only way to go, but you totally changed my mind on that.
