$60 on a 'portable shower' for hostels was a total waste
Honestly, I see people raving about those USB rechargeable shower heads for budget travel, and I gotta say I disagree hard. I spent $60 on one from Amazon thinking it'd save me money on private rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Tried it at a hostel in Barcelona last month and the water pressure was pathetic, like a sad drizzle. Plus you need a bucket or something to submerge the intake tube, which means hauling extra gear around. The battery died after two uses too, so it was useless for longer stays. Ended up just paying extra for a private room anyway, which defeated the whole point. Anyone else find these gadgets more hassle than they're worth?

Wait, TWO USES? That's insane lol. I thought my experience was bad but my battery at least lasted like 4 or 5 showers before it gave up. Charging it overnight was a pain though because the port was loose and you had to hold the cable just right. Honestly those things are a total scam for hostels where the water pressure is already weak anyway. You need a strong shower head just to feel clean after a day of walking around in the heat. I'm not surprised you gave up and just paid for a private room, that's what I ended up doing too.

Did you accidentally leave yours plugged into a fast charger or something? I've had a Scrubba one for two years now and it still holds a charge for like a week of hostels.

It's almost like people just accept that electronics are supposed to crap out after a year now. I've got a rechargeable fan from 2019 that still lasts all night, but my buddy's newer one barely makes it through a movie. Seems like everything is built to die just as the warranty expires, and we all just shrug and buy another one.
