Booked a $6 'budget' flight to Dublin and ended up losing $250

I saw Ryanair had flights to Dublin for like 6 bucks and jumped on it without reading the fine print. Turns out the carry-on bag size is a joke, they charged me 60 euros at the gate. Then the airport transfer to the city center was another 30 euros because their buses don't drop you anywhere near the actual cheap hostels. I spent 250 total on extras and fees by the end of the trip, could have just flown a normal airline. Anyone else get suckered by these ultra low cost carriers and end up paying way more?

I kinda see it differently though... Ryanair's carry-on rules have been the same for years, it's not like they hide it. You just gotta read the fine print before you buy. I've flown Ryanair a bunch of times and never paid extra because I always measure my bag against their little sizer thing at the airport before I even get in line. The real trick is knowing you're paying for the base fare and nothing else, then adding whatever you actually need. Most people just get caught up in the low price and don't bother checking what's included, which is kinda on them at this point.

What, did they charge you extra to breathe the cabin air too?
