Can we talk about the $14 bus pass I got in Lisbon that made me skip the 3 day tourist card?
I was standing at a kiosk near Rossio Square trying to decide between a 3 day tourist card and a plain Viva Viagem card, and the guy behind the counter said the tourist one was 42 euros. I asked what locals use and he pointed me to the 14 euro pass with 10 rides loaded on it. I mapped out my stops on paper that night and found I only needed 8 rides for my whole trip, so the fancy card would have been a waste. It's small but it made me rethink how I buy transit everywhere now. Does anyone else skip the tourist passes or is the convenience worth the extra cash for you?
Used to be that person who just grabbed the tourist card out of laziness, ngl. Then I actually added up my rides on a trip to Madrid and realized I was paying like double for stuff I never touched, museum discounts and all that. Now I check the local reloadable card first and do the math on paper, same as you did. That 14 euro move saved you almost 30 bucks, which is a solid dinner right there.
