Cheapest motel mattress had springs poking through at 2am in Tucson
I booked a $38 room at the Desert Inn in Tucson last Tuesday thinking I was saving big. Woke up at 2am with a metal spring digging into my back through the sheet. Ended up sleeping on the floor using my backpack as a pillow, still better than paying $120 somewhere else. Has anyone else found a decent cheap motel chain down there that doesn't try to stab you in your sleep?

Sleeping on the floor with a backpack as a pillow at 2am is wild, but I get why you did it when the alternative is $120. Maybe it's just me but that Desert Inn sounds like a total hazard, not even a budget win. I've heard Motel 6 in Tucson is hit or miss but usually won't try to impale you through the mattress.
