Finally cracked the code on cheap European trains

I used to book individual tickets and pay a fortune, but last month I tried a 7-day Eurail pass for a trip through Germany and Austria. It saved me about $120 compared to buying singles for the same route. Anyone else find a specific pass that worked better for their itinerary?

Honestly, I tried a regional pass for Bavaria and it was way cheaper than the full Eurail thing. Worked perfectly for hitting Munich, Nuremberg, and Salzburg without paying for extra countries I didn't need. Saved me like 80 bucks just keeping it local.

Solid tip, definitely trying that next time.

The Eurail pass isn't always the bargain people think it is... I did a cost comparison for my own trip and the math didn't work out for shorter distances. For a week of hopping between just two countries, you might actually lose money if you're not covering serious ground every day. Better to map out your exact stops first before committing to a multi-country pass.
