I finally checked the price of a hostel bed in Prague after always booking hotels

I was looking at a $120 hotel room for a night, then saw a dorm bed in the same area for $18. I'd been throwing money away for years. What's the biggest price gap you've seen between your usual choice and the budget option?

My local coffee shop charges $6 for a latte, but the gas station next door has a decent machine for $1.50. It's crazy how we get stuck paying for the vibe or the brand name without even checking. I see it with bottled water at the gym versus the tap, too. You just get used to the routine and forget there's a cheaper way to get basically the same thing.

But is saving a few bucks really that serious?

So you're saying my coffee is mostly hot water?
