Just realized I saved $120 eating bakery day olds for a whole weekend

I was in Chicago last month for a long weekend trip and decided to hit up a local bakery right before closing. They had a basket of day old pastries for $2 each, so I grabbed a couple croissants and a danish for breakfast the next morning. Ended up eating bakery stuff for 3 days straight and spent like $8 total instead of $30 a day on sit down breakfasts. Has anyone else tried this trick in other cities and found places that do the same thing?

My buddy tried this in Portland and said the day old stuff tasted even better the next morning.

My buddy did this in Austin and said the old bagels were still good two days later.

lol that's literally what happened to my friend in Denver. He grabbed a bag of day olds from some place and was eating them three mornings later still kinda fresh.
