My cousin swore by booking hostels through their direct website, not a third party. Tried it in Lisbon last month and saved 12 euros a night.

Three hours in a lobby?! That's insane, they just left him there. Honestly, I'd be so mad if that happened to me, especially after a long flight. It's crazy they admit it's the booking sites' fault but don't fix it for the person standing right there.

Watched my buddy get locked out of his room in Berlin because the hostel overbooked the third-party sites. He had to wait three hours in the lobby while they sorted it out. The front desk guy straight up told him booking direct avoids that mess. Makes you wonder why we still use the big booking sites, right?
