My coworker swore by booking flights on Tuesdays at 3 AM, here's what happened

Janet from accounting insisted airlines drop prices at 3 AM sharp, so I set alarms for two weeks straight. Ended up paying $40 more than I would've on a normal Wednesday morning booking for my Denver trip. Has anyone else had a 'secret hack' that was complete nonsense?
