PSA: the $15 airport bus in Dublin saved me $65, and I almost ignored the guy who told me about it
Two summers ago I was leaving Dublin and a man at the hostel front desk said to skip the taxi and take the 16 bus to the airport for about $3 instead of $65. I figured he was just being cheap, but I tried it anyway and the ride took 45 minutes. A taxi would have cost me $68 and maybe saved 15 minutes in traffic. Since then I have used city buses in Lisbon and Porto too, and each ride ran me $2 to $4. The one catch is you need coins or a transit card, so I keep a few euros in my jacket pocket now. Does anyone have a city where the airport bus turned out to be a bad idea?
