Spent 4 hours hunting down a cheap hostel in Barcelona that turned out to be a scam
I booked what looked like a solid $30 a night spot near Las Ramblas, but when I showed up it was just a guy renting out a closet with a mattress. Took me forever to get Booking.com to refund me, then I had to scramble for a real place at 11 PM. I swear I lost a whole afternoon dealing with customer support and walking around the city. Has anyone else gotten burned by those too good to be true listings on booking sites?
