Unpopular opinion: night trains beat cheap flights even when the flight is cheaper
Last month I flew Cleveland to Denver for $89 and spent another $60 on the airport bus and a 5am Uber, then lost a whole day to being wiped out, while my friend took an overnight train for $110 and walked off rested and already downtown. The train gave me a bed and a shower and put me right where I wanted to be, and the flight gave me a middle seat and a $9 pretzel. Does anyone else think we should stop treating the lowest fare as the real price, or am I just getting soft in my thirties?
