Why does nobody talk about booking flights on a Tuesday night at 2am

I was up late last Tuesday booking a trip to Denver, and I noticed the prices for a flight to Phoenix dropped like $80 right around 2 in the morning. I grabbed it for $97 round trip, which is crazy cheap for that route. A buddy of mine works in travel and told me airlines update their pricing systems late Sunday and Tuesday nights when fewer people are shopping. So I tested it out again last week for a trip to Chicago and same thing, saved about $60 on a direct flight. It's not a perfect rule since some cheap seats sell out fast, but I'm starting to think this timing thing is real. Has anyone else caught a deal like this by booking super late at night, or am I just lucky?

Confirmation bias, you only remember the times it works.

Yeah I actually used to roll my eyes at stuff like this too, but then I started keeping a little log for a few weeks and yeah no, I was totally just remembering the hits. My own little experiment changed my mind real quick.
