Found a grocery app that actually saves me money...
I kept overspending on food because I'd walk into the store without a plan. Last month I started using the Flipp app to compare weekly flyers from 4 different stores near me. I saved $38 just on produce and meat by planning my meals around what's on sale. Now I spend about 20 minutes on Sunday mapping out my list... anyone else have a favorite app for this?

Wait, are you sure it's called Flipp? I thought that one was more for coupons and the app that compares flyers is called Reebee. Did you try both?

Wait but nobody's talking about how these apps actually make their money... like if you're getting something for free there's gotta be a catch right? Flipp and Reebee both track what you search for and what flyers you look at so they can sell that data to the stores. Stores pay to have their stuff shown first in your search results too so you're not really seeing everything equally... I noticed that when I search for milk on Flipp it always shows the same three stores at the top even if another store has it cheaper. And the coupons thing is tricky because half the time the coupon doesn't match the actual shelf price or there's fine print you don't see until checkout. Just feels like we're the product here not the customer.

Oh actually Reebee is more of a flyer aggregator too, not just coupons. Both apps pull in the same weekly flyers from stores like No Frills and Shoppers. Ive used Flipp for years and it definitely does coupons as well as flyers though. Reebee is good for searching specific items across flyers which I find easier than Flipps layout sometimes. But thinking about it now, they both basically do the same thing just with slightly different designs.
