Had a terrible Tuesday but turned my whole food budget around by Friday

Last week I had one of those days where nothing went right. I overspent $18 on takeout because I forgot my lunch at home and was too rushed to go back. That mistake got me thinking about how often I waste money on impulse meals. So I sat down Friday and prepped 5 days of lunches for just $12 total using rice, beans, and frozen veggies. It saved me about $40 that week compared to my usual habits. Has anyone else had a bad day that actually pushed them to fix a bigger budgeting problem?

Solidarity from me on this, @parker183. That coat pocket find is the kind of luck we all dream about when we're scrambling for cash. It's funny how a bad day can shake up your whole system and lead to something good.

Forgot my lunch at home" is a classic. That happened to me about a month ago and it snowballed into me finding $47 cash in an old coat pocket. I was digging around looking for my keys and there it was. That paid for my lunches for almost two weeks. I guess losing the lunch led to me finding the cash, but it's not really a system or anything. Just lucky timing.
