I think people focus too much on cutting small costs and miss the big wins

I see friends stressing over saving $5 a month on coffee while ignoring a $200 car insurance payment they could shop around for. After tracking my spending for a year, I found my ten biggest expenses were 80% of my total outgoings. Do you aim for a few big wins or lots of small cuts?

It's just money, not a life or death thing. Getting worked up over a five dollar coffee seems like a waste of energy. The big bills matter more, but even then, is saving fifty bucks a month worth hours of phone calls? Sometimes you just pay for peace of mind and call it a day.

But those small cuts add up fast and build good habits.

Totally get what @murphy.abby means. I started rounding up every card purchase and putting the change in savings. It felt like nothing, but after a year it was over $500 without even trying. That mental shift is everything.
