I thought shopping at Costco was overrated until I saw the math on my $180 meat run
For 6 months I kept buying chicken and ground beef at my local grocery in Columbus because Costco felt like too much food for one person. Then my buddy did the math on my receipts: I was paying $5.99 a pound for chicken thighs, and the same pack at Costco came out to $2.79 a pound. I split a $180 meat haul with my neighbor last Saturday, vacuum sealed everything, and my freezer is full for the next 10 weeks. Has anyone else done a split buy like this, and did the upfront cost ever feel like too much at first?
