My barber asked what I spend on coffee each month and the number made me quiet
I was sitting in the chair at my barber on Vine last Tuesday and he asked me how my whole "money thing" was going, since I'd mentioned a while back that I was trying to get a handle on it. I said fine, and he asked what I spend on coffee out each month. I did the math in my head while he was cutting and it came to about $96, which I'd honestly never added up before. He didn't lecture me or anything, he just said he started putting that same amount into a jar every Friday and after 7 months it paid for his kid's new tires. What got me was that it wasn't some big sacrifice, it was just moving money he was already spending to a spot where he could see it. I went home and set up a $25 auto transfer every payday, which is way less than the coffee number, and I'm curious if that small amount will even matter over a few months. Has anyone here tried moving a small chunk on autopilot and actually stuck with it?
