My grocery bill dropped $80 after one change to meal planning
I used to just wing it at the store and always ended up with stuff I didn't need. Last month I started planning dinners around what was on sale at my local Kroger. I spent 15 minutes on Sunday looking at the flyer and making a list. Ended up saving $80 compared to my average weekly haul. Has anyone else had luck with sale-based meal planning or do you stick to your own recipes?

oh man, my best friend Sarah tried this exact thing and it was... a disaster at first. she went to Aldi with a list based on their sales and bought like six bags of frozen spinach because it was 50 cents off. then she realized she didn't actually have any recipes that used that much spinach. she ended up giving half of it to me and we made spinach dip for weeks. but after that she got the hang of it now she saves like $60 a month easy. she just had to learn to match the sales with meals she actually wanted to eat instead of just grabbing deals. it's kind of a skill you have to build up over time.

Okay but six bags of frozen spinach is actually like 12 cups of spinach when it thaws. That's a lot even if you like spinach.
