Pen-and-paper budget book from 2015 still beats my spreadsheet
Back in 2015, I was laid off and had to track every penny. My cousin in Austin gave me this old ledger book with lined columns and I started writing down every coffee, bus fare, and grocery run by hand. I kept that habit for two years, then moved to a fancy app and lost track of maybe $60 a month in misc spending. This week I pulled that same ledger out of a box and started fresh, just for fun. It takes me 5 minutes a day but I notice patterns way faster, like how my Tuesday lunch runs always kill my budget. Anyone else found that the low-tech method sticks better than any digital tool?
