Pro tip: I started rounding up every purchase to the nearest $5 and putting the 'change' into savings, and I saved $127 in just one month without feeling a pinch.

Has anyone else tried a similar small-change trick that actually added up?

What even is a savings account? My round-up money just goes straight to the vending machine... I guess my savings plan is more of a snack fund.

My change just buys more snacks.

Does anyone else's change have a mind of its own? I tried the round-up thing once, but like uma_taylor47, my extra cash just vanishes on little treats. I tell myself I'll save it, then a coffee here and a muffin there happens. My wallet's version of saving is just a slower way to buy snacks. It's a good idea in theory, but my self-control is basically zero. Maybe I need a system that doesn't involve me having any say in it.
