PSA: My 'quick' budget review turned into a 3 hour hunt for a $2.47 charge

I sat down Sunday to check my credit card statement and saw a charge from 'APL*SVC' for $2.47. I had no idea what it was. I spent an hour searching my email for receipts, then another hour checking every app on my phone for subscriptions. I finally found it buried in an old game my kid downloaded last year. It was a 'storage' fee I never agreed to. Has anyone else had a tiny mystery charge eat up their whole evening?

It's crazy how these tiny charges create so much work. The whole system feels built to hide small fees in plain sight, knowing we'll often just pay them to avoid the hassle. My bank statement is like a monthly puzzle where I'm the detective working for free. It makes you wonder how much money slips through because people don't have three hours to spare for a couple bucks.

What did you end up doing about the storage fee, did you get a refund?

Ugh, been there. I once lost a whole afternoon chasing down a $1.99 charge from some random app.
