Rant: Wasted $60 on a meal prep service that gave me tiny portions
I signed up for this local meal prep company in Phoenix last month thinking I'd save money on groceries. The containers were half full and I was hungry an hour after eating. Has anyone else gotten burned by one of these services?

Totally agree with @the_christopher, but let me add to it. These meal prep places are borderline scammy with their portion sizes. I tried one in Tempe and got like three bites of steak. Felt ripped off. Calorie counts don't matter if you're still hungry. You end up spending more on snacks anyway.

They were half full" is a bummer but honestly most of these services define serving sizes based on calorie counts not volume. You kind of have to look at the nutrition info before ordering. I used a place in Mesa that gave me what looked like small boxes but it was like 700 calories of chicken and rice. Pretty filling actually. Might be worth checking if that company uses dense ingredients instead of watery stuff.

I mean nobody's really talking about how some of these places are changing recipes without telling you. I was getting meals from one spot for a few weeks and then suddenly the containers looked way emptier but the menu description never changed. Idk maybe it's just me but I feel like they shrink portions once they have your subscription locked in.
