Shoutout to my dad for proving me wrong about grocery store apps

After 4 months of mocking his Kroger app alerts, I finally caved and saved $23 last week just on digital coupons for stuff I actually buy, so has anyone else found a store app that actually pays off instead of just spamming you with ads?

I had the exact same thing happen with the Target app, now I check it before every trip because the deals on stuff like paper towels and laundry soap are actually decent. Just make sure you clip the coupon before you scan your card at checkout or you'll miss the savings.

Wait actually you gotta clip the coupon BEFORE you scan anything. If you scan your card first and then clip it after it wont apply. Learned that the hard way twice lol.

That's a good point about clipping before scanning, but what's your move when the app glitches and the coupon just disappears from your saved list? Happened to me last week with a 20% off household cleaners coupon that was there one minute and gone the next when I got to the register. Like did it expire at exactly that moment or did the app just decide to eat it? I ended up having to go back through the whole weekly ad to find the same deal again, which is a pain when you're already trying to unload a cart full of stuff.
