Talked with my brother about his grocery budget and it made me rethink mine
I was complaining to him about how our food bill hit $650 last month. He just said 'I spend $300 for two people' and showed me his meal plan. Turns out he plans every meal around what's on sale that week at the local store. I never even look at the weekly ads. It hit me that I'm just grabbing stuff without thinking. Has anyone else had a family member make you feel like you're doing it all wrong?

Wait frozen broccoli for a week straight? Thats brutal. I'd lose my mind eating the same veggie every single night like that.

The whole sale thing works until you have picky kids or dietary restrictions. My sister tried that method and ended up eating frozen broccoli for a week straight because life got in the way and she couldn't cook the fresh stuff in time. Meal plans fall apart fast when you work late or have a sudden change in plans. You're not doing it wrong if your budget reflects your actual life and needs. Comparison is the thief of joy especially when it comes to food spending.

Have you ever tried just leaning into the frozen stuff on purpose? My friend Jenna quit fighting the whole fresh produce battle and now she just buys bags of frozen veggies and rice mixes from the discount store. She's got two picky kids and a job that runs late all the time, so she just dumps everything in a skillet and calls it dinner. Way less stress than trying to plan out meals that never happen anyway.
