Update: My old way of buying groceries was bleeding me dry
For years, I'd just go to the store and grab whatever looked good, no list, no plan. My bill for a family of three was always over $200. Then last month, I started using a meal plan app and making a strict list. I spent $145 last week and we ate just as well. The change was realizing I was buying stuff that just went bad. Has anyone else found a meal planning method that actually sticks?

Wait, you were spending over two hundred bucks every single trip?

Remember that time we went to the mall for ONE thing and left with a bag full of stuff? Yeah.

Seriously, it's the mall's whole business model. They design the place to make you wander past stuff you didn't need. You never just get the one thing.
