Lost 3 weeks of habit tracking when my notebook got wet at a coffee shop in Austin
I was at Jo's Coffee on South Congress last Saturday and a barista knocked over a big glass of water right onto my open bujo. The ink on my yearly log and February spread just bled into nothing. Now I only use waterproof pens for trackers and I keep a plastic sheet protector tucked in the back. Has anyone else had a soggy notebook disaster?

Waterproof pens and plastic sheets seem like overkill for a notebook. You probably could have just dried it out and kept going.

Lee_reed, you've clearly never tried to dry out a waterlogged Moleskine. The pages crinkle into a mess that's impossible to flatten, half the ink smears beyond recognition, and you end up with a lumpy, unusable brick. Waterproofing a journal you carry everywhere isn't about being dramatic, it's about not losing a year of memories to a single rainstorm or a tipped over coffee cup.

Ten minutes of drying would have turned that journal into a solid brick of pulp and ink. I've seen soaked notebooks before and they never come out right, the pages stick together and the writing bleeds into a mess. Waterproof gear might seem extra until you actually lose a year of your life's thoughts down a river. Some folks just don't get that once water hits paper, it's basically game over for most of the words. Ever tried to read a soggy diary page after it dries?
