My journal got soaked at the coffee shop on 5th street last week
I left it on the table for two minutes while I got a refill, and a server spilled a whole glass of water right on it. The pages were a wrinkled mess and my ink ran everywhere. I had to throw out a whole month of trackers and notes. Now I never leave my journal open and unattended, even for a second. Anyone else have a close call that made you change a simple habit?

That's the worst feeling, watching your own work just melt away. It's funny how one small accident can rewrite your whole routine, right? Makes you wonder what other tiny risks we take every day without even thinking. We trust things to stay put until they don't, and then we never make that mistake again. It's like we all need that one bad scare to finally learn the lesson for good.

My old leather planner got caught in a downpour walking home from the library three years ago. I spent a whole evening carefully pressing each page with a warm iron, which saved maybe seventy percent of my notes. Now I keep a gallon sized freezer bag folded up in the back pouch, just in case. That little bit of plastic gives me so much peace of mind when I'm out.
