My sister said my spreads were too rigid, she was right about that

She looked at my June spread and said 'this looks like a spreadsheet that learned to color.' I was pretty offended at first. I mean, I spent like 2 hours making sure every line was straight and my weekly boxes were exactly 1.8 inches wide. But then I thought about it and she had a point. I was so worried about the layout being perfect that I barely wrote anything in it. I'd spend more time decorating than actually using it. So I stripped it way down, left some blank space, and let my daily stuff flow across pages however it wants. It's messy now but I actually flip back through it. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made them totally redo their whole system? What did you change?

My old layout had every page mapped down to the millimeter and I still wound up with half-empty spreads by the end of the month. Once I let myself doodle in the margins and stopped measuring things, I actually started using the dang thing every day instead of just on Sundays.
