Portland workshop showed me a spread trick that finally clicked
I kept losing track of my weekly tasks cause my old layout was too cluttered. After watching a guy at a workshop use a single vertical line to split his page into tasks and notes, I gave it a shot and it actually stuck for 3 months now. Anyone else find a simple change like that that made your journal actually work?

That vertical line split is actually genius. I do something similar with a single fold down the middle of my notebook page. Keeps the task side clean and the notes side a mess but at least I can find stuff now.

Yeah I was pretty skeptical about the whole split page thing for a while, thought it was just another productivity fad. But after trying a simple fold down the middle like you mentioned, I actually get why it works now. It just makes everything feel less chaotic when you can separate the action items from the random thoughts.

Funny you mention the fold thing... my buddy Dave tried it with his bullet journal and ended up using a ruler to draw the line instead. Turned his whole page into a mess of ink smudges and ripped paper. He gave up after that and just went back to scrambling everything together. I guess some methods just click for certain people and not others.
