Rant: My barista saw my weekly spread and called it 'a cry for help'
I was setting up my July trackers at the coffee shop and she pointed at my 15-color mood key and said 'that's a lot of feelings for a Tuesday morning', which honestly made me question if I was overcomplicating things just to use my new pens.

That "cry for help" comment is rude. My friend had a coworker say her detailed lunch log was "psycho". She kept doing it because it helped her stomach issues, but she stopped bringing it to meetings. People see a system and assume it's about them, not the person using it. Your mood tracker is for you, not the barista.

The part about people seeing a system and assuming it's about them is exactly right. But sometimes the system really is a bit about them, or at least how you deal with them. Bringing a detailed lunch log to a meeting isn't neutral. It sends a signal, even if that's not the point. Choosing to leave it at your desk is just reading the room, not letting them win.

Totally get that, I mean my own habit tracker has a whole page for water intake and someone called it "extra". It's just how my brain works, idk.
