Spent 4 hours trying to fix my spread layout and it was one dumb mistake

I was setting up a new monthly spread for March and kept messing up the alignment on my future log section. I must have erased and redrawn the lines like 6 times, getting more frustrated each time. Turns out I was using a ruler with a slightly warped edge from being shoved in my bag for months. I grabbed a new ruler from the dollar store and the whole thing came together in under 10 minutes. Has anyone else had a tool totally mess up their layouts without realizing it?

Wait, is that what you do - just sketch out the whole thing first? Used to think that was a waste of time but honestly last time I tried it saved my ass, way less fixing stuff later.
