Switched from a monthly log to a weekly spread - not sure it works for me yet

I spent like 2 hours setting up my November monthly log last week, then realized I was barely using it after 3 days. Kept feeling like I needed more room for daily tasks. So I ripped it out and tried a 2-page weekly spread instead. Now it's been 4 days and I'm missing the big picture view of the month. Anyone go back and forth between these and find a trick that works?

Three months ago I switched to a combo system where I keep a monthly overview on one page and then do weekly details on the next two pages facing each other... that way I get the big picture and the room for daily tasks without ripping things out. The monthly page is super simple, just deadlines and appointments in a tiny calendar, and the weekly spread is where I dump all my to-do stuff. It's not perfect but it stopped me from feeling like I was missing something. Maybe try doing the monthly as just a simple list or grid on the first page, then flip to your weekly right after.

Honestly, @wendysanchez, that combo idea is smart. I tried something similar a while back but ended up going totally rogue with a binder that had a whole monthly spread with stickers and then random loose leaf pages for weekly stuff. It got way too chaotic, I had sticky notes falling out all over my bag. But your setup sounds more solid, like you actually keep it contained within two pages instead of letting it explode everywhere.

I used to be a total purist with my planner, I thought you had to pick one system and stick with it or else it was chaos. But your combo setup actually makes a lot of sense to me now... I kept trying to cram a whole month into a weekly layout and it felt cluttered and stressful. Seeing how you keep the monthly page super minimalist like just deadlines in a tiny grid changes my mind, I might try that instead of fighting my own notebook.
