The librarian in Denver who changed my monthly review setup

Last fall I was struggling to keep up with my trackers, and she saw me erasing a whole page during a quiet hour and just said, "Why are you tracking what you already know?" I ripped out five useless collections that night, and now I only log things that actually change my choices. Has anyone else had a stranger point out a flaw in their system that stuck with you?

...because I literally just read an article about how most habit trackers fail because people treat them like a diary instead of a decision tool. That librarian basically walked up and handed you the whole point of tracking in one sentence. I had a similar moment when a coworker saw my color coded spreadsheet and asked why I was logging my water intake when I never looked at the water column again. I felt so dumb because she was right. Now I only keep the two things I actually check every week, and everything else went in the trash where it belonged. What did you end up cutting first?
