Used to just dump every task into one massive monthly spread...

I was cramming work errands, doctor visits, and grocery lists all in the same section and it left me missing half my moving estimates last quarter. Switched to a four-column layout for separate life areas after I double-booked two clients on the same Tuesday morning. Anyone else find that separating personal from work actually saves you from those blown-out days?

First Tuesday last month I missed a dentist cleaning because I had it written under "bills" instead of "health" in my old single-column system. Four columns sounds tight but I bet it beats digging through one big mess. Do you color code by column too or just rely on the layout to keep things straight?

Kept missing my own kid's soccer games because I had them mixed in with client calls under "Tuesday at 4pm." Split into three color columns last fall (blue for work, green for personal, yellow for health) and it saved my schedule completely. If you're not doing separate columns with matching washi tape borders you're basically asking for double bookings.

Honestly, I gotta push back on this one @leodavis. That washi tape border and color column system sounds like a lot of extra work for something that should be simple. Ngl, I tried color coding one year and ended up spending more time matching the tape than actually using the calendar. A single column forces you to actually read every entry instead of just scanning for a color.
