Appreciation post: The client who said 'just fix it, I trust you'
Had a guy in Akron last month hand me a $5,000 deposit on a site redesign without asking for a single deliverable list. Has anyone else gotten that kind of blind trust from a stranger?

That kind of trust is getting rarer every year, but it's still out there. Read an article recently saying a lot of clients are burned out from micromanaging and just want someone competent to take the wheel. It's a nice reminder that being straightforward and doing good work can still earn that blind faith from strangers.

That phrase "just want someone competent to take the wheel" really hits home for me. I've noticed that when you prove yourself reliable from the start, people start handing over responsibilities without needing constant check-ins. It seems like in a world full of flaky folks, just showing up and doing what you say you'll do stands out more than ever.
