Ditched the fancy CRM and went back to a spreadsheet for 90 days

I was spending $80 a month on HubSpot but barely using half the features, so I switched everything to Google Sheets and a simple Gmail template. Turns out, tracking 47 leads manually forced me to actually call people instead of just clicking buttons. Has anyone else gone backwards and seen better results?

Wait, you actually tracked 47 leads by hand in a spreadsheet? I used to roll my eyes at people who said manual processes made them more accountable, but honestly, last month I tried ditching my project management tool for a whiteboard and sticky notes, and I was shocked at how much more I remembered about each client's situation. There's something about physically typing names and notes that keeps your brain engaged, versus just clicking "log call" and moving on.

Honestly I used to be one of those people who thought it sounded backwards and silly. But yeah, reading this and the reply about sticky notes has me wondering if I've been overcomplicating things for no reason. Might just try a whiteboard for my next client list and see if I actually follow through more.
