Hit 1000 sales this month and honestly thought my dashboard was broken

I started selling handmade leather wallets on Etsy back in February just as a side thing. This month I crossed 1000 sales and it freaked me out because I was expecting maybe 200 by December. Turns out a guy with a big Instagram page reviewed one of my wallets and it just took off. Anybody else get a surprise milestone that came out of nowhere?

Turns out a guy with a big Instagram page reviewed one of my wallets" - that's the wild part. People sleep on random influencer juice. I had a similar thing happen with my woodworking stuff. Some obscure home decor account just happened to use my coasters in a reel. Boom. 500 orders in a week. Made me realize there's no real formula for this stuff. You can optimize your shop forever but a random shoutout from the right person changes everything.

That's marketing in a nutshell. A lucky break matters more than all the effort you put in. You just have to keep making stuff until the right person finds it.
