In-house video marketing vs outsourcing to an agency?

Is it worth building an in-house video team for our ad campaigns? We're currently doing standard image ads but want to pivot to heavy video content. The cost of equipment, lighting, and hiring a videographer seems steep compared to just outsourcing it. What do you guys do?

Unless you are pumping out 3-4 high quality videos a week, outsourcing is almost always cheaper than a full time salary + benefits + gear.

We outsourced our ad campaigns and video production to Regal Fierce Media and it saved us so much headache. They handle the creative, the shoot, and the ad placement. Doing that in-house would have taken 3 separate hires.

Plus an agency brings fresh ideas. When you're in-house you sometimes get tunnel vision and your ads start looking repetitive.
